About Our Studio

Blackstone River Glass Center is more than a state-of-the-art studio — it’s a home for glass artists of all disciplines. Along with a full glassblowing studio, we offer classes in flameworking, kiln casting, slumping/fusing, and basic metalworking.

Committed to making glass art accessible beyond traditional education, we welcome students from all backgrounds. At BRGC, learning sparks creativity, dedication, and curiosity, guided by our team of expert artists and educators.

Meet Our Team

  • Rebecca Zhukov - Owner of BRGC

    Rebecca Zhukov is the founder and driving force behind Blackstone River Glass, a thriving glass studio nestled along the banks of the Blackstone River. With a passion for glass artistry and a dedication to building a creative community, Rebecca has spent years honing her craft and creating a space where people can experience the magic of glass firsthand.

    Her journey began with a vision—to bring the beauty of glassblowing, flameworking, and fusing/slumping under one roof. After two years of construction and planning, Blackstone River Glass opened to the public and has since taught over 2,000 classes, welcoming both beginners and experienced artists into the world of molten glass.

    Rebecca’s work has been recognized in Hey Rhody and Providence Monthly, naming her one of their Leading Ladies. But for her, the real reward is seeing the joy and wonder on people’s faces as they shape glass with their own hands.

    Whether she’s leading a class, creating stunning pieces, or fostering a welcoming creative space, Rebecca continues to inspire and grow Blackstone River Glass into something truly extraordinary.

  • Josie McCormack

    Office Manager

    Josie humans the front desk here at Blackstone River Glass Center. She assists with customer questions and bookings, coordinates staff scheduling and screams “Good Morning!!!” before you have had your first sip of coffee.

  • Andrew McCormack

    Shop Manager & Instructor - Glassblowing

    Through his varied experiences Andrew has acquired intricate knowledge about the workings of glass studios around the country and uses that knowledge base to keep our hot shop running smoothly.

  • Kim Savoie

    Instructor - Glassblowing

    Kim teaches our intermediate and specialized courses. She has been a glass blowing instructor for 11 years and brings life into any hot shop she is in.

  • Cameron Lipshires

    Instructor - Glassblowing

    Cameron teaches our weekday and weekend “Make Your Own” class. She has been creating glass art for 9 yrs, developing a deep appreciation for the beauty of the material and it’s endless challenges.

  • Dana Pomerantz-Glass Blowing Teacher

    Dana Pomerantz is a local artist who resides in Providence, RI. She has been working with glass for 12 years, having earned her BFA from Alfred University in glass & painting, as well as being a K-5 Visual Arts teacher.

  • Ben O'Neill-Manager/Instructor - Flameworking

    Ben is the lead of our flame working shop. He currently teaches all of our flame working classes with patience as the first priority. He has a deep appreciation for art of all kinds, but knew he’d found his preferred medium after getting on the torch for the first time 13 years ago. Outside of the studio he enjoys cooking and baking, frisbee golf, and going to the movies.

  • Alex Gaudet-Glassblowing Teacher

    Alex is a MA based artist who has been working in the field of glass for over a decade now. With a bachelors degree in glass  from MassArt he focuses on functional wares and the love for shape and form. his aptitude for teaching technique and process is one of his most utilized skills.

  • Kyla Miller-Enameling and Flameworking Teacher

    Kyla Miller is an Enamellist and Jeweler based out of Providence, Rhode Island and is earning her BFA in Jewelry and Metal Smithing at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design.

    She found the medium of Enamel when looking for a way to incorporate more complex color designs into her work, and has since jumped into the deep end! We’re so excited to be sharing this process and techniques with everyone at Blackstone Glass!

  • Amanda Nardone -Flameworking Teacher

    Amanda Nardone is a glass maker and teacher. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2013 from Tyler School of Art at Temple University. She creates conceptual and functional wearable glass art which she exhibits both at local events and museums.

  • Ovie Park -Glass Blowing Teacher

    You can find Ovie around the studio, either teaching in our hot shop or guiding guests through the galleries. They teach the 6 week Intro to Glassblowing and a handful of Make Your Owns. They graduated in 2015 with a BFA in glass and has focused in education for most of their professional career. Ovie loves to explore the process and techniques in making glass art. They're always ready to talk about the magic of glass as an artistic medium!

  • Clara LaFrance- Stained Glass

    Clara is a glass artist based in the Providence area. She started in Santa Fe, New Mexico where she was inspired to learn a new artform in the dead of desert winter. She's also a trapeze artist and coach, and finds joy in making and sharing art.

  • Christy LaPorte - Stained Glass

    Being an artist was always a dream for Christy growing up. She is always looking to find ways to live that dream. Christy is willing to try new things and push herself to be the best that she can be. She has been creating glass art for four years and is very excited to share that passion with others.

  • Deenie Pacik Giuliano - Fusing Teacher/Technician

    Creates stained and fused glass artwork including commissions of windows, doors, and room separators, and exhibits in juried shows and galleries. Deenie is translating a children's book into watercolors and glass. She lives in Massachusetts with her spouse, twins, and many pets. She loves the woods, fun with family, and gardening.She taught fused glass at Diablo Glass and the Fuller Craft Museum; drawing at Boston Architectural College; stained glass at Franklin Pierce; multimedia at RISD Continuing Ed and Summer Camp. She has received awards from the Museum of Fine Arts Boston Enterprise Design and the Dorothy Maddy Scholarship of the Stained Glass Association.
